Day 269 - What Do the Ten Commandments Mean Today?

Jesus changed the path to Heaven from the Ten Commandments and Law to him.

You are free. Free to choose your life, thoughts, and actions. Initially, freedom to choose seemed like a punishment to Adam and Eve for their sin in the garden. Later, it appeared people had little freedom because of the laws that God had given Moses. The Ten Commandments and all of God's laws. Then, years later, there was Jesus; he changed our path to Heaven. With confession and our pledge of faith to Jesus, we no longer look to the Law as our path to Heaven. We look to Jesus. Does that mean we no longer need to consider the Ten Commandments? Probably not, because they explain how God wants us to love one another. Right and wrong. That explanation is no less valid today; it is not the way to everlasting life. Jesus gifted us the gift of freedom from the Law to reach Heaven. Instead, salvation and freedom are based on your belief in the Son of God, our redeemer.

You were born and remain free. You and your faith know your path, but not because you follow the Law. Belief sets you free.

Prayer:

Jesus, you redeem me; you save me from the depths of agony when I leave this world, and I am grateful. I cannot imagine a life without you and this knowledge of my future. You set me free, and I thank you. I ask that you and our Father guide me in my choices to remain ever-steady in fulfilling my purpose with joy and happiness. Please guide me in following the laws of goodness and forgive me when I stumble. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
