Feel strong and courageous; you are protected by the Spirit of Glory and of God.
Dear brothers, do not be surprised, as if it was something strange, if your faith is tested as by fire: But be glad that you are given a part in the pains of Christ; so that at the revelation of his glory you may have great joy. If men say evil things of you because of the name of Christ, happy are you; for the Spirit of glory and of God is resting on you. Let no one among you undergo punishment as a taker of life, or as a thief, or as an evil-doer, or as one who is over-interested in other men's business; But if he undergoes punishment as a Christian, that is no shame to him; let him give glory to God in this name. (1 Peter 4.12-16 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Again, we are reminded that not all will be easy as Christians. There will be people who cannot accept how we believe and feel. That is one reason it is important to watch who you spend time with. At the same time, though, we must share what we believe, which may require some risk. If you find yourself in a difficult situation, gather your will, pray, and remember that God is your strength. Give Glory to God and persevere, knowing that you are in the right and what matters is that your soul cannot be harmed. You are protected by the Spirit of glory and of God.
What a beautiful thought; as you do good in the Lord's eyes, you are handing over your soul piece by piece, bit by bit, to him for his care. We may die or be harmed in the physical world, but we can be confident that the Lord has us safe in the heavenly world.
Prayer:
Wondrous Father, There have been times when I felt uncomfortable talking about you with others. I was embarrassed, and it is difficult to admit this. I am trying to break down the walls that I have put up. I am no longer uncomfortable. I have learned to look forward to opportunities to share your wonder with others. I am unsure how I would feel in a situation where I was physically in danger. I hope to have the strength to be brave and express my love for you in a display of courage and strength. I ask for your help if that situation ever occurs. I pray that you heal those who would hurt others because they believe in you. Let some ray of your love work into their hearts. Let some part of your eternal gifts find their way into their minds. Help them learn to think and feel differently. Help me assist others with their journey to understand and feel comfortable with you so they can share your love. For these things and all you know in my heart, I pray. Amen.
