We can learn to live with courage by examining the trials of Jesus.

Who in the days of his flesh, having sent up prayers and requests with strong crying and weeping to him who was able to give him salvation from death, had his prayer answered because of his fear of God. And though he was a Son, through the pain which he underwent, the knowledge came to him of what it was to be under God's orders; And when he had been made complete, he became the giver of eternal salvation to all those who are under his orders; (Hebrews 5.7-9 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

Through the trials Jesus endured, he was made perfect. He wept to God during the hardships he had to withstand, yet he realized what God felt must be done and gracefully bore the trauma and suffering he had to endure to come to resurrection.

Perhaps this also happens in a way with us. After all, Jesus was human and an example we can relate to and then revere as we understand and begin to live within the salvation he offers us. Our trials are also to be endured, learned from, and then serve as guides to creating a closer-to-perfect life in the eyes of the Lord. We can learn to live with courage by examining the trials of Jesus.

When feeling down and like you cannot continue, remember this. This, too, shall pass, and it will pass more quickly and bearably if you place yourself in God's hands from the moment you recognize it.

Prayer:

Jesus, you withstood the pain and suffering I cannot fathom. Sometimes, I feel so lost and separated from our Father, yet as I grow, I realize that remembering your experience helps me withstand mine. My sacrifice is so tiny compared to yours, yet I still feel terrible sometimes. Help me remember you and your love as I put one foot before another. Help me see your beautiful face in the mirror of life. With you, I will be strong and capable. I love you, sweet Jesus, and thank you for your example and great love. Amen
