The challenge from God is to take others into your heart, as Jesus did.

Now may the God who gives comfort and strength in waiting make you of the same mind with one another in harmony with Christ Jesus: so that with one mouth you may give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So then, take one another to your hearts, as Christ took us, to the glory of God. (Romans 15.5-7 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

For many, considering other people before our happiness is not the norm. We're taught to seek happiness, which to many people means focusing on me first. Is that thought of Jesus and our Lord? The scripture above reminds you to take others into your heart as Jesus brings us into his. Our joy and peace come from harmony with Christ Jesus, not by putting our desires first. Yet, we don't hesitate to place a barrier between us and others if we always consider our desires. Perhaps you can ask yourself, will I choose happiness at the cost of others? Or will I select the joy of alignment with Jesus Christ and God by serving others?

Prayer:

Beloved Jesus, you are my example of how to treat others. Help me to learn how to take people into my heart better. Help me more fully understand the meaning of love. This is how I show you how much I love you. By serving others in the best ways I can. We all have different talents, skills, and offerings. Lead me to those most valuable for each person I work with, know, and meet. Help me to never meet a stranger by showing your love from the minute I greet them. You are my heart, and I give you mine, Jesus. Amen
