You know in your heart right from wrong, the Holy Spirit helps you.
The Lord is good, a strong place in the day of trouble; and he has knowledge of those who take him for their safe cover. (Nahum 1.7 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
Beware of those who call your name yet act in confusing or deceiving ways. The evil one's goal is to gather all he can to him. Through deception, lies, and fear, the devil will try to steal you from God in little ways every day. It would be best if you were on guard, ever, considering where your actions come from. He lays a singular trap to slowly but surely move you away from God, to cause you to forget the Lord. Humans are fortunate, though; God gave you the ability to see through the deceit. With the Holy Spirit, you know in your heart right from wrong. To feel pangs of regret and shame when we falter. These are your alarm bells. They warn you of trouble. Listen to them and save yourself. It is not too late. It is never too late while we are alive. Take action and shelter yourself in the embrace of Jesus through repentance and a genuine desire to return to the Lord. It is our gift. We have only to accept it.
Prayer:
Jesus, with sorrow for my transgressions, I reach out for forgiveness. With joy, I accept and thank you for your compassion. Please help me gain strength and escape the temptations that corrupt my soul. I honestly only want to serve your Father and remain in your light. My weakness is my sorrow, and I would be so grateful for your help. I know only you and your Father can save me from myself. Thank you for your sacrifice, which resulted in my forgiveness and the promise of life you offer each of us. Jesus, I pray this in your precious name. Amen
