Have you created your sacred space?
Do you have a sacred space in your heart for the Lord, a ritual you go through
to feel his presence more profoundly and meaningfully? A place that, in thinking about it, helps you feel our Father's presence.
Our ancestors used all their creative skills to build a physical home for the ark of God. God asked them to make it and provided the needed knowledge. The artisans and craftsmen began building the sacred home for the ark that was worthy of the Lord. Imagine the tent, the finery, and the veils surrounding the space set aside for the Holy of Holies. It must have been overwhelming to be near the sight of such glory.
While you may not build a tent with gold and gemstones, you can create a sacred
space in your home and within yourself.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, guide me to create a special place in my home and heart for our Lord. Please teach me how to nurture myself and give myself the freedom to imagine where my Father would like to reside. Help me see what it looks like and to feel his presence. Remind me that I need to visit my sacred space every day, perhaps several times a day.
Help me realize that there are times when I need to spend a moment in my sacred space. With your help, I will be more present to the Father, and I look forward to spending more time with him in the holy environment I create. I dream of the wonders that will come about due to our time together. I pray that I please my Father and continue to grow my understanding of him and his son, Jesus Christ. With profound gratitude. Amen
