Guard yourself and be ready to fight off even the smallest temptations.
And the Evil One said, I will give you authority over all these, and the glory of them, for it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone at my pleasure.
If then you will give worship to me, it will all be yours.
And Jesus in answer said to him, It has been said in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God, and be his servant only. (Luke 4.6-8 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
There are many things in this world that cause you to question. Evil things seem to occur more frequently and seem harsher than in the past. Perhaps they are, or because of the media and information availability, you hear and read about tragedy and hate more often. In the Bible, you can tell that evil has always existed. It is understandable since we are taught that this world is Satan's playground to rule. He constantly attacks, trying to break you and turn you into evil. It is a real battle you wage every day. He starts with little things that are seemingly harmless. Like a virus, that corruption can eventually overwhelm you as it grows.
Fight off even the smallest temptations. Keep yourself strong and in God's word to win. Every day, fight the fight, never putting it off until tomorrow. What will be left undone if there is no tomorrow?
Prayer:
Lord, I am your warrior, made in your image to fight Satan and his army. Through faith and strong character, I will stay true to you. With your protection, I will be saved from myself and evil. I am grateful to be forgiven and blessed by you, and I thank you every moment of my life. You are my Lord. I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen
