Treating others fairly is a great gift of love.
Is anyone among you in trouble? let him say prayers. Is anyone glad? let him make a song of praise.
Is anyone among you ill? let him send for the rulers of the church; and let them say prayers over him, putting oil on him in the name of the Lord.
And by the prayer of faith the man who is ill will be made well, and he will be lifted up by the Lord, and for any sin which he has done he will have forgiveness. (James 5.13-15 Bible in Basic English (BBE))
When you deal with others, are you fair with them? Do you pay a just wage, treating your employees or coworkers the same as a favored child? Showing patience and gratitude for the good they have shown you. Are you tolerant and understanding of their learning? Do you encourage others' successes? Do you weep when they weep? Do you take time to guide and promote a different path when you hear or see something not of God related to them? We have an obligation of fairness, guidance, encouragement, and love for our brothers and sisters. Yet, too often, many choose to ignore their responsibility. How do you react? How do you treat others? Treating others fairly is a great gift of love you can offer others. It can also change your life if you let it.
Prayer:
Lord, you are the one who truly understands all the components of fairness. Please let me learn from you. I recognize that I am not perfect, yet I want to be, in your eyes, as perfect as an imperfect human can be. Send the Holy Spirit to guide me and help me become more aware of myself, my actions, and my thoughts. Please help me help others grow and reach their potential and keep me from judgment on the journey. I love you, Lord, and I am grateful for the many blessings in my life. You make my life sweet and joyful, and I am thankful. I pray in Jesus Christ's name. Amen
