Have you found yourself searching for God?
Have you ever searched for God? Paul mentions this in Acts. He talks about people looking unthinkingly for God, not realizing he is there already. No search is needed to find him. No battle, no sorrow will bring him closer. He was there with them then. God is here with you and everyone already. If you do not recognize his presence, wake up and realize he is waiting for you to recognize him in your life. Look for the most minor thing that makes you wonder and let that convince you he is near. Accept his sweet grace and joy like those who see. He is a patient father with a son who brings tender relief to our humanness through salvation. Relish in the gift of his loving embrace and joy. The holy spirit waits to whisper sweet truths in your heart. If you know and see God already, rejoice and recognize your blessings. Feel the Father's love, the Holy Spirit's guiding presence, and Jesus' tender acceptance of your human frailties. Rejoice, you are blessed.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I sometimes find myself searching for you, God. I know you are always with me in my heart and mind, yet sometimes it is difficult to see you, so I fumble and search in my darkness for your love. Please help me recognize you in my life in a richer, more beautiful way. Draw a picture in my heart and mind that I can bring to my thoughts when I search for and suffer the longing of missing you. Allow that picture to bring me again closer to you, close enough to hear your whisper, smell your sweetness, and share the love I feel from your grace. Let that feeling translate into the strength to pray with new fervor, always believing and never doubting. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
