Day 220 - A Time for Everything, Know God is Always Near You

The Lord is like the sea. The tide ebbs yet never lets the sand completely dry, just as God is always near you.

For everything there is a fixed time, and a time for every business under the sun.

A time for birth and a time for death; a time for planting and a time for uprooting;

A time to put to death and a time to make well; a time for pulling down and a time for building up;

A time for weeping and a time for laughing; a time for sorrow and a time for dancing;

A time to take stones away and a time to get stones together; a time for kissing and a time to keep from kissing;

A time for search and a time for loss; a time to keep and a time to give away;

A time for undoing and a time for stitching; a time for keeping quiet and a time for talk;

A time for love and a time for hate; a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3.1-8 126.2-6 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

A time for all things, including death. The time of death draws near, whether today, tomorrow, or years from now. The time is known only by the Father. You still have an opportunity to live life fully. How do you prepare? If you read Scripture, you see there were several opportunities where Jesus prepared for his time. Do not worry about the when, but make ready and stay ready as Jesus did.

The Lord is like the sea. The tide ebbs yet never lets the sand completely dry, just as God is always near you. He waits on your call as the sand waits for the sea to return.

Work to live in the freedom of Jesus Christ and your love for the Lord. It is always time to live in the Lord's love.

Prayer:

You are the God of all of life's phases and times of life., Lord, I know you are there for everything that happens in my life. That knowledge fills me with your love. I am a grain of your sand, and you are the sea, bringing life-giving water and nutrients to everything around me. You know every grain of sand and water drop, both created by your hand. A humbling thought that I am in awe of. I stand as ready as I know to be. Please help me recognize what else I should do. Amen.
