Day 142 - If There Were No Choice, There Would Be No Heaven.

Finding Your Creative Bones® 365-Day Devotional © 2023

Be joyful. If there were no choice, there would be no heaven.

Many did not want the gates and walls of Jerusalem to be rebuilt. They challenged and threatened Nehemiah. His enemies tried to deceive him in many ways. They did not want the people to believe in God. It threatened their way of life. They wanted the Israelites to live in fear.

Do you have similar struggles where you feel someone is always attempting to distract or deceive you? Do they want to shake your faith and cause you to give up? You can combat this with your faith. Shore up your thoughts and keep them on the Lord. What are you doing for the Lord that makes them want to break your faith? Understanding why they are trying to stop you is essential. Realizing why and that you are battling for what matters can help you stay the course. You are fighting as Nehemiah fought for God and faith. Your belief will always be in a battle to steal your faith. Accept it and be joyful of your choice, your partnership with the Lord. Be thankful you can make a choice. For if there were no choice, there would be no heaven.

Prayer:

Warrior God, I pledge to fight the just causes of my life for you. I am ready to be what I need to be to fight as Nehemiah, David, and so many others have been. You are the armor I put on every day to protect myself. If I forget to ask for your assistance, I trust you will be there when things become difficult. You are my leader, and I am your warrior for good. Use me and help me in all ways achieve the kingdom that you desire for us. I have gratitude in my heart for your calling, for being wanted to be a part of your family and future. Amen.
