Day 140 - Your Faith the Size of a Mustard Seed, is All You Need to Move Mountains

Consider this: Faith the size of a mustard seed is all you need to move mountains of change in the world.

Jesus spoke to his disciples.

And he says to them, Because of your little faith: for truly I say to you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Be moved from this place to that; and it will be moved; and nothing will be impossible to you. (Matthew 17.20 Bible in Basic English (BBE))

A mustard seed, faith the size of a mustard seed is all you need to move mountains. You might say, "That is nothing. I have that much faith". What have you done with the might of that faith? What mountains have you moved? What significant accomplishments have you made for the Lord? Congratulations if your list is too long to name. You have great faith and the power that faith presents in your life and have used it for the Lord. If your list is a little shorter, you must grow your belief in the Lord. Or you might need to grow your faith in yourself as capable of serving and changing the world. What is holding you back? Are there sacrifices to be made? Do they seem too much to bear? Think of Ezra and Israel. Many had to send their loved wives and children from their lives to atone for their sins. Many must have suffered greatly, but their love for God outweighed their sorrow. This is an important consideration. How strong is your faith, and how big is your mustard seed?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, my faith is much larger than a mustard seed. Yet I realize that sometimes I place it in a container less than the size of a seed. The question I need to answer is why. Help me grow my understanding and use today as a reminder that all things are possible with you if I only believe. With my faith, the world can be changed.

I want to move mountains for you, Lord, yet I do not always know how. In all those situations, guide me with thoughts of potential and strengthen me with actions that achieve movement toward the world you desire for us. Your word is engaging, and your world is beautiful and needs my help. Thank you for the opportunity to make a difference. For the chance to grow and expand my thoughts on how to help. I seek to please you. Amen.
